The world is racing headlong toward the greatest tragedy in the history of mankind. Today there are 1.5 billion people in Islam, that believe they worship God.

Following is the most deadly verse in the Quran:

Surah 4:157 That they said (in boast), "We killed Christ Jesus the son of Mary, the Messenger of Allah";- but they killed him not, nor crucified him, but so it was made to appear to them, and those who differ therein are full of doubts, with no (certain) knowledge, but only conjecture to follow, for of a surety they killed him not:-

2 Peter 2:1 But there were false prophets also among the people, even as there shall be false teachers among you, who privily shall bring in damnable heresies, even denying the Lord that bought them, and bring upon themselves swift destruction.

Hebrews 10:29 Of how much sorer punishment, suppose ye, shall he be thought worthy, who hath trodden under foot the Son of God, and hath counted the blood of the covenant, wherewith he was sanctified, an unholy thing, and hath done despite unto the Spirit of grace?

Hebrews 9:22 And almost all things are by the law purged with blood; and without shedding of blood is no remission.

Much of the world recognizes the historical record that Jesus died on the Cross, yet Muslims must deny this. Even worse, denying the whole purpose behind God sending His Son as a sacrifice to save us from our sin - the only Gentile path to salvation.

There are 1.5 billion souls in Islam today.

Matthew 7:13 Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide [is] the gate, and broad [is] the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat:

Proverbs 14:12 There is a way which seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof [are] the ways of death.

The following verse is the core of the new covenant we were given in Jesus Christ. It is what Jesus sacrifice for our sin and the New Testament are all about.

John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

Surah 9.30 The Jews call 'Uzair a son of God, and the Christians call Christ the Son of God. That is a saying from their mouth; (In this) they but imitate what the Unbelievers of old used to say. God's curse be on them: how they are deluded away from the Truth!

Even though Muslims believe Mary was a virgin, that was caused to become pregnant by God to conceive Jesus, the Quran requires them to deny that Jesus was the only begotten Son of God.

Surah 112.2 Allah, the Eternal, Absolute; 3 He begetteth not, nor is He begotten;

This is the spirit of antichrist.

1 John 2:22 Who is a liar but he that denieth that Jesus is the Christ? He is antichrist, that denieth the Father and the Son. 23 Whosoever denieth the Son, the same hath not the Father: [(but) he that acknowledgeth the Son hath the Father also].

1John 5:10 He that believeth on the Son of God hath the witness in himself: he that believeth not God hath made him a liar; because he believeth not the record that God gave of his Son.

The name of the God of Abraham is YHWH (Yahweh), which means "I AM".

Exodus 3:14 And God said unto Moses, I AM THAT I AM: and he said, Thus shalt thou say unto the children of Israel, I AM hath sent me unto you.

Allah does not mean "I AM" in Arabic. Is the name the only difference? Is Allah the God of Abraham?

Genesis 12:2 And I will make of thee [Abram] a great nation [Israel], and I will bless thee, and make thy name great; and thou shalt be a blessing: 3 And I will bless them that bless thee, and curse him that curseth thee: and in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed.

Hadith: “Jews will hide behind the rock and tree, and the rock and tree will say: oh servant of Allah, oh Muslim, there is a Jew behind me, come and kill him!” (video)

Ephesians 5:25 Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it;

Sura 2:223 your wives are as tilth (farmland) unto you; so approach your tilth when or how ye will.

Matthew 5:44 But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you;

Sura 8:12 I will instill terror into the hearts of the unbelievers: smite ye above their necks and smite all their finger-tips off them

Sura 9:5 But when the forbidden months are past, then fight and slay the Pagans wherever ye find them, an seize them, beleaguer them, and lie in wait for them in every stratagem (of war);...

Sura 9:123 O ye who believe! fight the unbelievers . . .

It should be painfully obvious that the verses compared above could not be inspired by the same God. Not surprisingly then, of the 99 names of Allah - even after extensive revision - none indicate that he is a God of love. A Muslim must choose between the God of the Christians and Jews or the one of Islam that curses Christians and Jews.

Matthew 7:16 Ye shall know them by their fruits.

The most important fundamental in Islam is "shirk" - manifest as God has no Son. This is reinforced by Muslims being taught that Christians are polytheists.

Here are a couple of verse snippets that should seem familiar to Muslims:

...there is one God; and there is none other but he...

This may come as a surprise to Muslims that have been instructed to not read the bible, but the two verse snippets above come from the Gospel of Mark in the New Testament:

Mark 12:29 And Jesus answered him, The first of all the commandments [is], Hear, O Israel; The Lord our God is one Lord: 30 And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind, and with all thy strength: this [is] the first commandment. 31 And the second [is] like, [namely] this, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. There is none other commandment greater than these. 32 And the scribe said unto him, Well, Master, thou hast said the truth: for there is one God; and there is none other but he:

It is an Islamic fable that Christians are polytheists.

Jesus declared He is God:

John 8:58 Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Before Abraham was, I am. 59 Then took they up stones to cast at him: but Jesus hid himself, and went out of the temple, going through the midst of them, and so passed by.

John 10:30 I and [my] Father are one. 31 Then the Jews took up stones again to stone him.

MANIFESTATIONS OF GOD (URL or Internet address to this spot)

Muslims believe that by the Word of Allah He sent His spirit through the angel Gabriel, to the Virgin Mary, through which she conceived Jesus. Muslims call Jesus Ruhullah, which means, Spirit of Allah.

Christians believe in God, and God's Spirit, and God manifest in the flesh in Jesus Christ.

Muslims accuse polytheism.

Muslims believe in God, and God's Spirit, and God's Spirit made flesh in Jesus Christ. (Ruhullah)

Muslims claim monotheism.

By the same measure they apply to Christians then, Muslims are polytheists.

Muslims understand that Jesus is a manifestation of God. That the Virgin Mary's conception of Him was miraculous, and unlike any other prophet or apostle. Then only because of the turn of a single verse in the Quran, they deny that Jesus was begotten of God. Denying ALL of the verses in the bible that apply the term begotten to Jesus Christ, let alone 47 verses that call Him the Son of God and a ton more that refer to Him as THE Son. Consider the term beget:

2. To cause to exist or occur; produce: Violence begets more violence.

If God didn't beget Jesus, then who caused Jesus to exist?

Muslims believe that the virgin Mary became pregnant by God having sent His Spirit to Mary through the angel Gabriel. It's obvious from the term, that if Mary became pregnant because God said "be", then God begat Jesus.

They believe that Jesus was Mary's son.

Who then would His father be?

NOBODY would suggest that God had carnal fleshly relations with Mary in the human sense, yet absurdly that's what some Muslims are taught that Christians believe.

Nonetheless, Mary did bear God's only begotten son.

Though a close imitation, Muslims are stuck illogically denying the term "begotten" because of Mohammed's book:

Surah 112:2 Allah, the Eternal, Absolute; 3 He begetteth not, nor is He begotten;

1Timothy 3:16 And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifest in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up into glory.

Mohammed didn't even know what the "trinity" is!

Surah 5:116 - And behold! Allah will say: "O Jesus the son of Mary! Didst thou say unto men, worship me and my mother as gods in derogation of Allah'?" He will say: "Glory to Thee! never could I say what I had no right (to say). Had I said such a thing, thou wouldst indeed have known it. Thou knowest what is in my heart, Thou I know not what is in Thine. For Thou knowest in full all that is hidden.

The "trinity" has nothing to do with Mary. It is the Father, manifest in His Son Jesus Christ, and the Holy Ghost that Christians are given of God's Spirit.

Old Testament prophecy:

Psalms 2:7 I will declare the decree: the LORD hath said unto me, Thou [art] my Son; this day have I begotten thee.

New Testament fulfillment:

Acts 13:33 God hath fulfilled the same unto us their children, in that he hath raised up Jesus again; as it is also written in the second psalm, Thou art my Son, this day have I begotten thee.

Old Testament Prophecy:

Isaiah 9:6 For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.

From a version of the Tanach - Isaiah 9:5 For a child has been born to us, a son given to us, and the authority is upon his shoulder, and the wondrous adviser, the mighty God, the everlasting Father, called his name, "the prince of peace."

Exodus 31:3 And I have filled him with the spirit of God, in wisdom, and in understanding, and in knowledge, and in all manner of workmanship,

New Testament Fulfillment:

Matthew 3:17 And lo a voice from heaven, saying, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.

John 1:1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.

John 1:10 He was in the world, and the world was made by him, and the world knew him not. 11 He came unto his own, and his own received him not.

John 1:14 And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.

John 14:26 But the Comforter, [which is] the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.

1Corinthians 6:19 What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost [which is] in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own?

1Corinthians 12:3 Wherefore I give you to understand, that no man speaking by the Spirit of God calleth Jesus accursed: and [that] no man can say that Jesus is the Lord, but by the Holy Ghost.

Might the above verse address still sovereignty blinded Jews, as well as Christians?

Even though many Muslims believe that the first drop of blood shed by a Muslim "martyr" provides propitiation for the sin of 70 of his nearest and dearest, it is inconceivable to them that Jesus sacrifice on the Cross could provide propitiation for the sin of all those who believe in Him.

John 14:6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me. Jesus IS THE TRUTH. So why does the God of Islam condone Taqiyyah, or lying in the way of Allah, even allowing denying that one is a Muslim? It is a much different matter for Christians. Matthew 10:33 But whosoever shall deny me before men, him will I also deny before my Father which is in heaven. More on Taquyya (taqiyyah, taqiya, taqwa, taqi) It is ironic to note, that even if a Muslim were to render an opinion on Taquyya, it could not be depended upon because he could be lying in the way of Allah. And if he assured you he wasn't lying, he could again be lying in the way of Allah. If you have an interest in truth, read the opinion of a saved Muslim, or MBB (Muslim born believer), that has come to know the love of the one true God, like those at Answering Islam.

Mohammed and Islam, even unto today, have such a fear of truth that the widely understood punishment prescribed for someone who turns away from Islam is death.

Mohammed didn't even let his followers be friends of Christians and Jews, or kafir as we are called:

Surah 5.51 O ye who believe! take not the Jews and the Christians for your friends and protectors: They are but friends and protectors to each other. And he amongst you that turns to them (for friendship) is of them. Verily Allah guideth not a people unjust.

In other words, if a Muslim tells you he is your friend he is either lying, or is an Islamic apostate.

Based on the preceding verses, it should come as no surprise that Islamic leaders discourage their followers from reading the Bible.

Why not read it and consider it for yourself? This is the 21st century information age, not a 7th century Middle Eastern desert.

You can read or listen to the Bible right now. If it's a lie surely Allah will let you know! Your eternal life hangs in the balance. That big hole in your heart, is just the right size for the love of the one true God to fill. Make no mistake. If you are Islamic you have chosen to follow a violent, illiterate, 7th century desert dweller, whose book runs directly contrary to the words of the prophets of the Holy Bible - Old Testament and New - that was written and collected over a period of 1200 years. It is also provable mathematically. Is it reasonable to believe that the Bible was corrupted, while the Quran - that was collected on palm leaves and stones - and discarded twice - and is based on Mohammed's unwitnessed "revelations" - is not?

BIBLE VS QURAN (URL to this spot)

The Holy Bible describes events that took place over a period of 1200 years.

"The books of Moses, originally penned in the 15th century B.C. contain Egyptian words and idioms that fell out of usage a few centuries later. When the Hebrews entered Canaan, Canaanite words appeared in Scripture, when in contact with the Assyrians, Assyrian words appeared in Scripture. During the Babylonian captivity, when Daniel and Ezekiel were written, Babylonian words and Babylonian idioms appeared in Scripture. So rest assured, these canonical books were contemporary books, written when the prophets claimed they were, and they remain unchanged to this day."

"Manuscript discoveries at Qumran were made in the late 1940's (the Isaiah scroll, the book of Daniel, the book of Jubilees, the Temple scrolls, etc. etc.), some of which could be dated to the third century B.C.. Internal evidence within one Daniel scroll dates it at 350 B.C. 2 Timothy 3:16 All scripture [is] given by inspiration of God, and [is] profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: 17 That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works.

It seems unimaginable that someone would choose to follow a single, illiterate, 7th century prophet, who proffered unwitnessed 'revelations" - some of which the prophet himself admitted were Satanic - that inspired a book to be written much later, that directly contradicts the large volume of prophets, miracles and their witnesses, that penned the bible about a period that spanned 1200 years. Some western Muslims excuse away the violence the Quran incites as being something relevant for the 7th century, but that somehow it can be reinterpreted, or excused away, for today. "U.S. mosques that feel the Koran should be interpreted with consideration of its purposes and modern circumstances: 71 percent". In stark contrast, the New Testament of the Holy Bible - which is the fulfillment of the Old Testament - is as relevant, inerrant and perfect today, as it was in the 1st century.

Perhaps following Mohammed is understandable of those back in a 7th century Middle Eastern desert with the fleshly allure of harems of sex slaves in return for rape pillage and plunder in the name of Allah, but how does it continue in this information age? Though to a considerable extent in environments where access to education and information is limited. To reject The Holy Bible - that is proven to have been handed down to us virtually intact even some 1900 years after the New Testament was written - in lieu of Mohammed's Quran, seems to indicate that there is more than simply personal preference involved.

Unto today, a Christian or Jewish martyr says: "I will die for what I believe". A Muslim martyr says: "You will die for what I believe."

Look at Saudi Arabia, in the cradle of the religion. Husbands lock their wives in the house during the day. Some are kind enough to limit the wife beating s to just 10 strokes. If you don't show up for early morning prayer the police will come to your house and investigate, and perhaps arrest you. If you turn away from Islam (apostasy) you are beheaded. Is this really the kind of god you want to follow?

2 Thessalonians 2:8-14 And then shall that Wicked be revealed, whom the Lord shall consume with the spirit of his mouth, and shall destroy with the brightness of his coming: 9 [Even him], whose coming is after the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders, 10 And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved. 11 And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie: 12 That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness. 13 But we are bound to give thanks alway to God for you, brethren beloved of the Lord, because God hath from the beginning chosen you to salvation through sanctification of the Spirit and belief of the truth: 14 Whereunto he called you by our gospel, to the obtaining of the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Three witnesses of Jesus' day against the word of one "prophet" that came along five centuries later.

Islam requires so much repetitive prayer one would have to wonder how those folks would find time for a relationship with their Creator.

Matthew 6:7 But when ye pray, use not vain repetitions, as the heathen [do]: for they think that they shall be heard for their much speaking.

From "Infidel" Ali explains part of salat, "You say Praise be to Allah thirty-three times; God forgive me thirty-three times; Allah is great thirty-three times; and then, if you choose, you may also say Gratitude to Allah."

That's a total of 495 repetitions of just those first three prayers - every day - because Muslims are commanded to perform salat fives times a day.

Micah 6:8 He hath shewed thee, O man, what [is] good; and what doth the LORD require of thee, but to do justly, and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with thy God?

Muhammad believed that Christians were polytheists because the bible says that God sent His Son Jesus Christ - the Lamb of God - to take away the sin of the world through His perfect sacrifice on the Cross.

John 1:29 The next day John seeth Jesus coming unto him, and saith, Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world.

While it's hard to imagine that many modern day Muslims believe Christians to be polytheists, had Muhammed been literate he may have learned from Mark's gospel that Christians do indeed believe in one God: John 10:30 I and [my] Father are one.

Below are the founding verses of the Dome of the Rock:

"O you People of the Book, overstep not bounds in your religion, and of God speak only the truth. The Messiah, Jesus, son of Mary, is only an apostle of God, and his Word which he conveyed unto Mary, and a Spirit proceeding from him. Believe therefore in God and his apostles, and say not Three. It will be better for you. God is only one God. Far be it from His transcendent majesty that he should have a son."

Luke 24:39 Behold my hands and my feet, that it is I myself: handle me, and see; for a spirit hath not flesh and bones, as ye see me have.

Many Muslims believe they worship the God of Abraham, but since the Quran teaches that God has no Son, Islam is specifically antichrist. It follows then that each and every Muslim is an antichrist, because they deny the Son.

John 10:36-38 Say ye of him, whom the Father hath sanctified, and sent into the world, Thou blasphemest; because I said, I am the Son of God? 37 If I do not the works of my Father, believe me not. 38 But if I do, though ye believe not me, believe the works: that ye may know, and believe, that the Father [is] in me, and I in him.

1John 2:23 Whosoever denieth the Son, the same hath not the Father: [(but) he that acknowledgeth the Son hath the Father also].

1 John 2:22 Who is a liar but he that denieth that Jesus is the Christ? He is antichrist, that denieth the Father and the Son.

"Fight those who believe not in God [Allah] and his apostle [Mohammed], nor acknowledge the religion of truth [even if they are] of the people of the book [i.e. Jews and Christians], until they pay jizya [humiliating tax] with willing submission, and feel themselves subdued [enslaved]. (Sura 9:29).

A being who is determined to wipe out Jews and Christians, now who might that be? The Bible has the answer:

Revelation 12:17 And the dragon (Satan) was wroth with the woman (Israel), and went to make war with the remnant of her seed, which keep the commandments of God (the Jews today), and have the testimony of Jesus Christ (the Christians)."

As for Jewish blindness, when we turn to scripture we find that God gave the some of the Jews the "spirit of slumber", "...eyes that they should not see, and ears that they should not hear...", so some have not yet recognized Jesus as Yeshu a, and are still awaiting Him. Messianic Jews and Christians (some are former Muslims), believe that Jesus is the Messiah. Jesus IS the Son of God, and that Jesus and God are one. We worship God as the Father, God as the Son, and God as the Holy Ghost - ONE GOD.

Those that the West labels as "terrorists" are simply fundamental Islamic faithful. If we are to understand Islam we need to look at how it is understood and practiced in the cradle of the religion, and not listen to some liberal western Muslim, who the Muslims in the Middle East would readily label an apostate infidel. Muslims are expected to emulate the actions of their prophet. That's what the hadiths are for. "In Islam there are only two houses, The Dar el Salaam (the house of peace) and the Dar el Harb (the house of war). If you are a Moslem you are in the Dar el Salaam, but if you're of any other faith, you're an infidel in the Dar el Harb and Islam is at war with you."

A life in Christ Jesus is about living and loving on this earth, while in the kingdom of Jesus Christ, toward the goal of our life with our Lord and Savior in the hereafter. It's about bringing the "Good News" to others. Islam and Jihad are about conquering the earth, and the rest of the non-Islamic physical world, and being rewarded in heaven with a bevy of virgins and rivers of wine. Satan gained control of the physical kingdoms of this earth at Adam's fall. Conquest of these Satanic earthly kingdoms is Islam's goal. The Muslim against Muslim violence we see in the world today should make it painfully obvious what the world would look like under Islamic control.

Since Islam is founded in the spirit of antichrist, it is the opposite of Christianity as all of the verses above from both books aptly demonstrate. Christians are in Christ, and Muslims are antichrist. This becomes more apparent when we c onsider the fruit of Islam on display around the world.

A FREE ONLINE BOOK - THE FALSE PROPHET by Ellis Skolfield

John 5:23 That all [men] should honour the Son, even as they honour the Father. He that honoureth not the Son honoureth not the Father which hath sent him.

You can click on the online Blue Letter Bible and type - "son of god" - into the search window to consider 47 verses that use the term and confirm that Jesus is the Son of God.

Jews were given the "spirit of slumber", and "that blindness in part is happened to Israel, until the fulness of the Gentiles be come in." Full number of Gentiles, or nations, is what is meant so this means unto today. Some Jews inability to recognize Jesus as their Messiah is explained in Romans Chapter 11 and elsewhere.

The Jews and the Christians are the two witnesses before our Father Yahweh.

Romans 11:28 As concerning the gospel, [they are] enemies for your sakes: but as touching the election, [they are] beloved for the fathers' sakes.

So it would seem that the Jews are the only people that can be enemies of the gospel, yet still be beloved.

There is clearly no such accommodation described for Gentiles of a religion steeped in the spirit of antichrist, that was founded hundreds of years after the Bible was written.

God gave the Jews an everlasting covenant.

Genesis 7:7 And I will establish my covenant between me and thee and thy seed after thee in their generations for an everlasting covenant, to be a God unto thee, and to thy seed after thee.

Psalms 105:8-10 He hath remembered his covenant for ever, the word which he commanded to a thousand generations ... And confirmed the same unto Jacob for a law, and to Israel for an everlasting covenant.

Jesus led a sinless life and became the perfect sacrifice through which everyone in the world can be saved from our sins.

WHAT DO WE KNOW ABOUT THE PROPHET MOHAMMED? (URL to this spot)

In the first thirteen years of Islam Mohammed was able to convert barely a hundred followers. Then he picked up the sword, plundering caravans at first, later beginning the first Islamic Jihad, "converting" through the power of the sword. This is Islamic fundamentalism as practiced by its founder and prophet, and terrorists today. Mohammed was able to raise an army of men, enticed by a God who sanctioned rape, pillage and plunder, and sexual enslavement of women and children into one's personal harem, as the spoils of Jihad. Walid Shoebat was taught that rape of women was perfectly acceptable during Jihad, when he was being trained as a PLO terrorist, as the same Quran applies today.

Mohammed married a wealthy woman 15 years his senior, and remained monogamous for 25 years, then she died 3 years before Mohammed's flight from Mecca. Not long before Mohammed was expelled from Mecca an admirer offered his 6-year-old daughter Aisha in marriage to Mohammed, and Mohammed accepted. He did wait 3 years until little Aisha was 9 before consummating the marriage. During the interval that passed Mohammed added another wife. Then he added wife after wife. It would seem that it then became necessary for God to grant Mohammed carte blanche through another "revelation":

"O prophet! We have made lawful to thee thy wives to whom thou hast paid their dowers; and those whom thy right hand possesses out of the prisoners of war whom God, has assigned to thee; and daughters of thy paternal uncles and aunts, and daughters of thy maternal uncles and aunts who migrated [from Mecca] with thee; and any believing woman who dedicates her soul to the prophet if the prophet wishes to wed her; - this only for thee, and not for believers [at large]; we know what we have appointed for them as to their wives and the captives whom their right hand possess; - in order that there should be no difficulty for thee. And God is oft-forgiving, most merciful.

Thou mayest defer (the turn of) any of them that thou pleasest, and thou mayest receive any thou pleasest: and there is no blame on thee if thou invite one whose (turn) thou hadst set aside. This were nigher to the cooling of their eyes, the prevention of their grief, and their satisfaction - that of all of them - with that which thou hast to give them: and Allah knows (all) that is in your hearts: and Allah is All-Knowing, Most Forbearing. Pretty convenient. The Holy Book gets written to grant the Prophet the favor of lavishing large numbers of women on himself alone, including nieces, and then exempts his personal behavior so that "there should be no difficulty for thee".

Aisha once remarked, "It seems to me that your Lord hastens to satisfy your desire." Sahih Muslim vol.2 book 8 no.3453-3454 p.748-749.

Indeed. Mohammed at one point fell in love with his step son's wife and told him:

"'Praise belongeth unto Allah who turneth the hearts of men as he willeth.'

"Zaid got the message and arranged to divorce his wife. Muhammad knew quite well that nothing short of a new "revelation" could save his face from this detestable act, so he dissuaded Zaid from putting his wife away until the transaction could be sanctioned by a "revelation" from Allah:

"Behold! thou didst say to one who had received the grace of God and thy Favor: 'retain thou [in wedlock] thy wife, and fear God.' But thou didst fear in thy heart that which God was about to make manifest: thou didst fear the people, but it is more fitting that thou shouldest fear God. Then when Zaid had dissolved [his marriage] with her, with the necessary [formality], we joined her in marriage to thee: in order that in [the future] there may be no difficulty to the believers in [the matter of] marriage with the wives of their adopted sons, when the later have dissolved with the necessary [formality] [their marriage] with them. And God's command must be fulfilled." (Sura 33:37)" - from Islam Reviewed

This is one of the Koranic contradictions since marriage to a step daughter or son is considered incest.
